John Gbel

Head of Operations

We are delighted to announce that Westgate IT has been acquired by Acora Ltd, one of the UK’s most successful managed service providers for the mid-market.

The South West is an important strategic region for Acora, where it already has a significant number of contracted clients in the Legal and Insurance sectors. Through Westgate, Acora benefits from greater access to local talent, an additional service centre supporting further organic growth, and more than 100 loyal clients who they are excited to work with.

David Rabson, Chief Executive at Acora, says:

“We have been tracking Westgate for some time for their exciting young team, who we plan to invest in and develop further as part of Acora. In addition, the customers and markets with whom Westgate have deep relationships, align well with Acora’s existing sector focus and we believe their client base will benefit from Acora’s scale, its wider set of capabilities and the investments we have made in our world-class service delivery”.

Westgate’s staff will join forces with the Acora team and will continue to provide the same levels of outstanding support to mid-market customers across the region, led by John Gbel who stays on as Head of Operations. With a now 400+ strong team of IT Professionals working together, the combined business will deliver an unrivalled customer experience.

“We have been impressed by the strength of the relationships Westgate holds with its clients” commented James Karp, Acora COO, “and we see an opportunity to integrate Westgate’s managed security services with our own, to the benefit of the combined customer base”.
